I have created a new talk on “The MacArthur’s in the ’45, which covers my Clan’s involvement in the 1745 Conflict in Scotland.

The talk starts with a brief account of the background to the 1745 Jacobite Rising or Rebellion, depending on your point of view, covers those MacArthurs known to have been part of in “Bonnie Prince Charlie’s” Army on the Jacobite side, then covers those MacArthurs known to have been part of units on the Government side. I finish by mentioning other examples of Clans whose loyalty was split in this way.

I have produced the talk so that I can give it to an International Clan MacArthur Gathering in Scotland in May 2024, but am very happy to give it to anyone else who is interested.

It lasts about 30 minutes.
